Introduction:
Paneer Butter Masala is a rich and creamy North Indian dish made with soft paneer cubes cooked in a tomato-based gravy. Perfect for pairing with naan or jeera rice!
Ingredients:
- 200g paneer (cubed)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 cup tomatoes (pureed)
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 cup fresh cream
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions:
- Heat butter and oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
- Pour in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
- Add turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
- Add water and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir in fresh cream and kasuri methi. Mix well.
- Add paneer cubes and let them soak in the gravy for 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
Tips:
- For extra creaminess, add a little cashew paste.
- You can replace fresh cream with milk or curd for a lighter version.
